Lenexa, KS. July 1, 2019 – Canyon Farms Golf Club hosted one hundred and fifty golfers, including thirty Veteran special guest players, on Monday, July 1, for the Inaugural Wingman Open Golf Tournament, sponsored by Torch.AI. The event raised over $60,000 to benefit Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to children and spouses of fallen and disabled veterans.
The sold-out Wingman Open was a memorable, patriotic event funding Folds of Honor scholarships. Golfers were treated to food and drinks provided by Duck Donuts, McKeever’s Price Chopper, Budweiser, and Redneck Riviera. Fun on the course included entertainment by long drive and trick-shot champion, Patrick “Paddy-Whack” Cocherl, ball launchers by Metro Golf with TJ Blankenship, and massages by Jennie Mae. Inspirational speakers from Folds of Honor included Purple Heart Veteran, Major Edward Pulido, and Gold Star wives, Colleen Katzenberger and Kelli Campbell. They shared powerful stories of the impact Folds of Honor is having on families in the local Kansas City community.
“All of us at Torch.AI are proud to have supported the inaugural Torch.AI Wingman Open. Everyday our employees deliver technologies that help protect our Warfighters. It is a great honor to partner with Folds of Honor and their Kansas City team to support dependents that have been adversely affected by service member deployments.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the results of this event and have been impressed with the entire Folds of Honor team.” -Brian Weaver, Chairman & CEO, Torch.AI, https://torch.ai
